Myth Buster

We are safe from mold in the cold months of winter.

-------F A L S E--------

The majority of mold grows best in temperatures above 60 degrees.

All though it may be colder than 60 degrees outside, once the heater

is on inside your home/office, any mold ( active or dormant ) can begin

to fester.  Festering leads to the release of toxic substances into

the air you breathe.

How is it possible ?

Turning on our heaters, adjusting the temperature consistently for comfort,

creates the moisture needed for mold growth.

  • When the warm air begins to cool,  it looses its capacity to hold water vapor.

  • As the air cools, it will begin to condensate, giving mold enough moisture to grow, spread, and release toxic spores.

It can be horrifying to think we are cultivating mold in our

homes & work places.
